A really cosy place to relax after the christmas holidays. Suprisingly warm once the log burning stove is going. Amazing scenery and not far from Selkirk or Edinburgh if you want a day out. Beautiful walks near by no matter what the weather. The staff are just a phone call away if needed, no mobile signal so they have installed a land line in the honesty shop (open 24 hours). A camping stove with two rings and grill are provided in the yurt for cooking along with cutlery, cups and plates. Basic but clean shower and toilet facilities a short walk from the yurts. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable break which I have already recommend to friends.

Best time ever with my family! The kids loved it and it was all very relaxing and romantic for me and my partner. Will definitely go back!

Beautiful views, fantastic facilities and a lovely owner - what more could you ask for? Would definitely recommend it to everyone, and will be returning next time I'm in the area.

Amazing experience! We stayed here as a couple with a toddler and had a really special time. Nic and Tam were really great hosts. The location is beautiful, and very peaceful. The yurt we stayed in had comfy beds, plenty of bedding, and was really stunning inside. There is an honesty shop on site with wifi, fridge, lots of extra cooking equipment, games, books etc for you to use. The showers were nice too. I honestly can’t rate this place high enough - we had an amazing break here. Perfect to get away from normal life for a few days and experience something quite different.

Liked: Our first time in a yurt, we were very pleasantly surprised. Beautifully furnished, comfortable and well equipped with the basics including clean, fresh bedding. The tank of drinking/ cooking water, candle lamps and personal barbecue were lovely finishing touches. Plenty of space for the kids to explore. Toilet/Shower facilities were clean and well maintained.

Liked: The set up of the site and area.

The potential

Disliked: Hello we have just had a weekend stay with yourselves and whilst we had a great time I felt I wanted to let you know about a few issues we had with our stay, at £400 for 2 nights I’m afraid I couldn’t really let them go.

We arrived on Friday evening and although raining it wasn’t too heavy yet there was an obvious drip from the ceiling of the yurt which had in fact soaked one of our bags of clothes and was directly above the bed. The satin was soaking also. This was obviously a previous problem as there appears to be plastic sheeting on some areas of the ceiling.

I feel for this price the beds should have been made up for us. I would rather not have seen the quality of the duvets and pillows which were quite frankly ‘scabby’. We didn’t actually receive a double sheet either so slept for two nights with a single one accross the bed. This isn’t luxury. Again for the price this should be included.

The grill had no knob so was not usable. We have (unfortunately) fussy kids who wanted toast that we couldn’t give them due to having no grill.

Two of our bbq tools were broken and therefore useless.

The fire was not made up as advertised.
I feel supplying only enough tea lights for one night of our stay was also not great.
There was rope hanging out at parts of the yurt and where this was indeed rustic it certainly wasn’t twinkly fairy lights as advertised.

Small things like supplying charcoal, ample tea lights and ice in the cool box (which is useless without it) and ensuring the beds made on arrival (especially with a 4pm checkin) and supplying a grill that works) would have made this experience and justified the price.

Your site is beautiful and we are the kind of people that can have fun anywhere but I was left really disappointed by the things mentioned above. For this price we just expected more. It would have been so simple to make the improvements so that we could have the experience promised by your website.

I hope you will understand and appreciate our feedback.

Sadly I received no reply from the owners which would have been polite at the very least. I dislike leaving poor reviews but for the reasons above I feel this is not value for money

Liked: The area was beautiful and tranquil

Disliked: The yurt was dirty, the crockery was dirty and still had food on from the previous peoole- these clearly hadn't been checked before we arrived, the slats in the bed were out when the bed was pulled out so my husband had to fix them back in place, there was a leak in the top of the yurt, the solar lights were broken, the facilities were not clean and it was not as advertised on the website. It was not up to scratch for £400 I will not book again.
