Alex and Simon always give us an amazing welcome, and their relaxed hospitality has made us feel at ease. What a lovely part of the world with lots locally to see and do. Ask them about the excellent family beaches, stunning walks on the moor, the best crabbing spots, and leave at least a day to do the charity and alternative shops in Totnes... Highly recommended!

A super glamping experience. We stayed for 5 nights and the safari tent is situated in lovely spacious countryside and fully equipped and clean for a comfortable stay. We stayed with our two young boys who enjoyed visiting the beach everyday, fishing and playing a game of cricket next to the tent. The breakfast box was full of tasty produce, especially the black pudding and sausages! The place to stay in Devon!

Fab stay at the idyllic Brackenhill Glamping last weekend. The safari tent is very comfortable and well equipped. We might not be able to camp conventionally again 😂. We also highly recommend the breakfast offer - very high quality produce from local suppliers. We will be back

A fairly new venture offering Safari glamping with all home comforts. This unit offers a picturesque view over the village & surrounding countryside and is equipped with double room and bunk room with J&J shower room, living, dining and kitchen area, fire pit, BBQ area & outdoor dining. A small shop in site stocks some popular essential items.

If a holiday home could come close to perfection, Brackenhill might just be it. The setting (the view across the valley
and the hills behind, with the church tower at its centre) is stunning; the seclusion (the field is overlooked only by buzzards by day and bats at night) is both calming and deeply affecting; the safari tent itself is an aesthetically beautiful thing, but also practical - spacious, sturdy, comfortable and spotlessly clean; the family who own and run the site are the very best of people, attentive but never intrusive, they genuinely want you to love the place as they do and go the extra mile to make it so.
As for practicalities, the facilities in the tent are excellent and there is a wood burner within and fire-pit without; parking is safe, spacious and easy, the honesty shop is a godsend (the village at the bottom of the hill has two pubs but no shop), and Ugborough is perfectly placed between the moors and the sea. We will definitely be coming back, again and again.

Words can't describe the night sky at this place - we love it! The welcome and luxury were fab as always - thank you Alex and Simon (especially with all the extra cleaning on top of your usual high stabdards!)

We had a lovely stay during mid September with good weather to match the wonderful scenery and setting. The location is excellent just a short drive from A38, local towns and villages.
The owners really have considered everything, accomodation immaculate, with lots of additions and equipment to ensure you can self cater in a very relaxing manner. With numerous farm shops en-route we stocked up and enjoyed a cooked breakfast on the BBQ every morning.
The wood burner is a great addition and really ensures a cosy evening whilst taking the chill out of the night, combined with comfy and warm bedding. Logs, kindling and charcoal is available onsite at a reasonable price, so no need to bring your own.
We made use of the guidebook and map provided for some wonderful walks and wild swims in the area, all within a short drive though if you wish to stay put for the day, the site could entertainment young explorers in the field, stream and grassland. Boardgames also provided.
The village has two pubs and also visited weekly by the mobile fish and chip van, pre-booking for all local catering is essential. Shops are nearby in Ivybridge.
We would absolutely return to relax and also continue to explore the wonderful coast and countryside in the area.

So with a last minute decision to get away for a few nights we stumbled across Brackenhill Glamping. From the offset we received quick responses to any questions or queries we had, along with a few stunning photos of Dartmoor where we planned to go each day. We decided to book for 3 nights and once confirmed we were sent an email confirmation including an extensive list of all the amenities within the glamping tent (WOW.. they really do go above and beyond with what’s included inside the tents)!!
As we arrived (easy to find) we were greeted with a warm welcome and after explaining a little about the area and what they had to offer on site (honesty shop, washing and drying facilities, recycling) we were pointed in the direction of our glamping tent. We were in the bottom tent (Slow Worm!). As I opened up the ‘door’ I was amazed. The whole place was so lovely decorated and had everything you could possibly need during your stay. The attention to detail inside the glamping tent was second to none and on top of that everything provided was really good quality - hot water bottle on each bed with a towel underneath, tea and coffee, warm blankets, quality bedding, hairdryer, maps for Dartmoor with an informative welcome pack, lovely warm shower and… wine glasses!! Along with much much more! For those with their four legged friends🐕, like us, they get their own dog bed with a water and food bowl with two treats included 😍🐶
For those who want more of a camping experience there is a fantastic fire pit and BBQ out the front of the decking, and for those who maybe want more of an easy cooking experience (possibly after a long day walking like us) the conventional oven inside is great. After roasting some marshmallows on the fire pit you can go back inside as it gets darker to get the inside ‘glamping’ fire going 🔥 let’s just say we were never cold!! If you run out of logs don’t worry, the honesty shop is fully prepared with extra logs, fire lighters and kindling along with many other items. They really have thought of it all ☺️

Dartmoor is basically on your doorstep, which was perfect for us. Being up at the crack of dawn watching the sunrise with a coffee whilst planning a long walk over Dartmoor was perfect and knowing that after our walk we were coming back to the Glamping tent was bliss - having a nice warm shower before sitting on the decking with a glass of wine (or two) to unwind! I have to say for the middle of October we were VERY lucky with the weather, and being able to look up at the starts at night was magical. However, if we were to have had rain the decking area is all covered so could sit outside come rain or shine.

Our whole ‘Glamping experience’ is definitely not one we will forget.. and yes we would most definitely rebook for next year (or next week)!

I would fully recommend Brackenhill Glamping, whether it is for a romantic get away, a family adventure or a get together with friends, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. You won’t be disappointed 😁
