I wouldn't give even one star unless that's the minimum I need to select to leave a review.
My car was sold by Oakleigh Cars on the Fri 18/09/20 with the promise that the funds due to me/my finance lender will be settled within 14 days. 14 days arrived and went. I'm now exactly at 63 days (9 weeks) and still no sign of settling the funds. My car was under PCP with me having a contractual obligation with a finance lender and am STILL contractually obliged to settle the funds. I have lost complete trust on oakleigh cars, their excuses so far have been lame referring to the covid-19 situation - they were isolating, they were on annual leave and now they are working from home!! I didn't realise working from home would be a reason for not settling the funds.
The only reason I sold my car before the PCP ended was because I lost my job due to COVID. But the sole purpose of my sale is defeated because am still under contractual obligation with the lender. This has drained all my energy and am so frustrated with this dealer. I have now raised a formal complaint with my finance lender and will be subsequently raising one with trading standards.
I would caution you to stay away from this dealer if you are ever thinking of selling your car through them. Be prepared to wait for months (if it will ever be settled)...
Attached is the photo of my car they sold - parked in their premises with their banner behind the car. I also have a copy of their advert, will upload here as soon I find it.
Small details so you would think easy to resolve.
Car had a puncture, door handle part missing and the wheels needed to be refurbished, along with all the documentation that came with the car.
The car was advertised as having full Audi service history.
Arrived the next week to be told all of this had been taken care of..... nothing had been done except the wheels which now as they weren’t refurbished properly the paint is now peeling off them.
I still haven’t received the full service history and nobody returns emails or calls.
Handle part got sent in the post in the wrong colour and I got told I could find someone to spray it for me. Then got told they’d send me it in the correct colour- I’m still waiting.
Spare key doesn’t work.
Puncture wasn’t repaired and I found that out while driving back on the motorway.
Got the documents (no full service history) drip sent to me over months after I was constantly chasing for them.
I did however get fines through the post on the car I part exchanged with them.
I have been passed around from one person to the next, Spencer, Leigh, Elliott and Rob and still have nothing resolved.
AN ABSOLUTELY APPALLING “PRESTIGE BUSINESS” AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I’m sure there’s still things I have missed off.
Long story short is...A few years ago I asked Oakleigh Cars to sell a performance Audi for me. They took good pictures and listed the car for sale. What ensued was a complete lack of contact, zero transparency and shocking service.
I left my car and the keys with Oakleigh Cars to sell and to take interested people on test drives. To my knowledge in the space of over a month it had only 1 test drive. I intervened and asked to take my car back. When I got inside, the car had somehow clocked up 600 miles!!!!! The 1 test driver either drove to Scotland and back or the employees at Oakleigh Cars have been taking my car out for their own errands whenever!
Further to that, I found used McDonald’s wrappers under the seat...which pretty much summed it up.
Typical wheeler dealers. You’d have better luck buying or selling a motor with Del Boy than with these crooks. Avoid like the plague.
