Very expensive for what they actually did, when you challenge them over the cost and insist on having an invoice eventually they send it and still failed to break it down so either the labour cost is over £140 per hour or some one is not telling the truth there. I spoke with mechanic about the work he actually did and he stated he went straight to the fault less than 20 minutes work, still got charged. Also why over charge for postage. cost me less than a £5 to send item for repair and it has been repaired even after they told me was unrepairable anybody can fit a brand new main dealer part to a car was charged £24by garage for postage seems bit hi.
So appreciate they local but do seem to overcharge a bit and is hard work getting full statement/invoice

I’m not from the area, I got my MOT done here for £53, it failed the MOT and they was going to charge me up to £600 for the work. Came back to my hometown, then got an MOT for £30, my car passed the MOT, and in the end it only cost me £200 for 4 tyres (only 1 of which actually needed to be changed). Unless your local, prepare to be ripped off.

Excellent service and are honest, friendly and welcoming. Very fair price for work, MOT's etc...in my opinion. We are now using them for all aspects of work for our three cars.

After 15 plus yrs of using this garage with no problems, I can honestly say I don't think I'd use them again, car failed it's mot, was charged £194 in total as it failed emissions, as they checked other things that could of caused this, still apparently didn't pass, was quoted a bill of £750 with no guarantees possible need for a new engine £1800, car only worth roughly £1200. Paperwork supplied when I decided not to have work done stated no test was carried out , due to blue smoke when I'd been told on phone 2 tests had been carried out, plus it somehow managed to gain 4 miles on the clock over the day and a half they had it.
Took car somewhere else, they charged me 180 for different work completely unconnected to emissions, did say there was a small leak but only an advisory level and emissions OK
Just don't think I'd trust them again, feel like they were out to make money out of me.

Have used this garage for over 10yrs. Am so impressed with their customer service, I’m kept up to date with the work being carried out as well as being told any coatings up front. Was very impressed with the COVID precautions they put in place; felt very safe at the garage and that my car had been sanitised before being handed back. Would thoroughly recommend them.

We have been using this garage for several years now and have always been very happy with the service, they charge reasonable prices and we always recieve excellent communication when using them. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

A well established family garage. I have used them for some 20 years, for both my work van and my private car. Service is always first class, fast and efficient. Mechanics are easy to talk to, and will explain clearly what is required. Always giving a fair and honest quote for work required. As a recently retired Long Distance Courier I had to rely on a mechanics word. Cawte and Elms always lived up to that expectation. Often advising when the vehicle was no longer economic to repair. In the 20 years I have used them I have always been satisfied. I personally will not use another garage. Highly recommended.

Just had my oil & filter change done by these guys. Friendly service and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
