We made a reservation for a car the day before and even paid some money and then we showed up and they had no car for us. Apparently a reservation that we made was cancelled, but we received no notification about such cancellation. Because of this we ended up pretty much stranded in Portsmouth of all the places so you know, that wasn't the greatest experience of my life.

I had the worst experience with Europcar in Portsmouth. Never book with them again. When I arrived to pick up my car, the girl attending just ignored my presence because she was leaving and didn't told her colleague I was waiting. When I call the girl in the back office, she didn't apologize for not noticing me. She told me although I had a reservation they didn't have the car for me. The worst costumers service ever.

Absolutely unbelievable shamed car rental service. This cannot be europcar representative. Had reservation, but didn't have car for me,10 minutes inside office and no one talked to me,had my self to call lady in back office because I was Absolutely ignored, Ruin my day as I had plans to visit friends. As a professional in rent a car service I had never seen anything like this.

Be carefull, contrary to most other companies and what the generic europcar booking terms says, they will refuse non-uk driving licenses. ( French in my case )
They voided my online booking on the day and I had to find another company with no notice.
Thankfully there are other great local rental companies around.

Avoid at all costs, total scam! We've rented a car during Christmas and was given a faulty one, that had a puncture repair. Next day when we were suppose to meet our family for a Christmas dinner we noticed a flat tire, had to call RAC and waited 3-4h to repair it so that we can return it the next day for a replacement. The branch did not have a replacement car and we were promised a full refund for inconvenience caused. We still have not received a refund, went to the branch couple of times, they look into your eyes and lie that they are issuing it now. Even the head office is telling the same story. We've been robbed by this company. Awful people in the branch, will avoid at all cost.

Very friendly and professional staff.
Sadly the car had an overpowering smell of cleaning product or air freshener which hung around for the 3 day rental period and contaminated my clothes and bags.

I have hired a car over the website , they charged me £207 I have planned my day and week for work , and they shortly cancelled my booking , now I have my money taken out which will be back on account in 10 days and no car ? How can they do that?, this is so inconvenient the lady on the phone not even apologised just said I’m afraid you can’t have a car, it is so frustrating, she told me I will not be getting a car and I need to move on, and just hung up on me. How they can treat their customers like that? I’m dealing with a business under the brand name EuropCar and some women taking everything personally like I’m hiring a car from her personally (her name was Anna) I’m so disappointed with such service I will be making formal complaints to issue me compensation as I lost thousands of pounds due to this.cancellation! They not even offered me any alternative and still have my money! Never again !
