Hertz - Southampton International Airport

Returned the car full tank with 2 original refueling receipts as proof together with the keys, was told everything is ok and free to go. However, later discovered that card was charged extra ~£80. Enquired 4 times regarding this matter but was told various reasons (wrong car recorded, wrongly charged, car not returned). In the end they showed an invoice with a completely different rental charge and extra refueling charges.

What a shambles - car booked for 12.30pm ; arrive at 12.30pm to be told there are no cars available for another five minutes. 20 minutes later I'm told that the car I booked is not available and I have to go for a more basic model. Flew down on business and gave myself an hour and a half to get to my meeting, which is an hour away. By the time I leave the car park I will have about 50 minutes to get to the meeting. Complete joke. Will not use again.

Wow! Such a change to have good customer service, friendly professional staff and a smooth service compared to Europcar that I have used until last year! Highly recommend Hertz, will use in future now, thanks.

Same than the others ... I called the day before to be sure everything was OK. When I poped up at their building, impossible to get the car, they had only 1 left, which didn't match the requirements. No proposal to upgrade without extra fees, even if that was their mistake. They even don't care about such a lack of professionalism. Rubbish, I'll rent elsewhere now.

Tried to charge for damage on the car for an inch long scuff of mud on the bumper. If you use them check every inch of your car before you take it out.

Despite having booked a car well in advance they had no cars and no idea what to do about it.
The manager ran off never to be seen again.
All a bit embarrassing.
