Alamo Rent A Car - London Gatwick Airport

Rented cars all over the world and can say that it was one of best experiences I've had. There was no pushing for insurance at all and staff was very friendly. Renting the car took 5 minutes tops and returning was 30 seconds! Car was in very good condition, 16k miles driven. Highly recommended.

Having rented cars from Gatwick before, one thing to note is that Alamo and Enterprise go from the North Terminal. All quite effortless but the desk is on the ground floor, to the left side of the main door, if coming in from the ground. Here they check your licence etc, all quite painless and efficient, then you walk out of the door, turn right and follow the pavement ( and car rental signs) to the car rental car park. This is about a 2-3 minute walk but don't cross the road into the multi storey car park. Here you walk into the relevant office, they ask for your name and they then have all your details. All nice and simple. I was taken to the car and it was all neat and tidy and clean. I was soon on my way. All in all an effortless experience and would definitely use them again. Finally, if you use Easyjet or any others that fly from the North Terminal it is a perfect solution when you return the car.

My son booked a car some weeks ago but on arriving at the airport no car was there. He wanted an automatic but was offered a manual or electric car. We ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours for a car to be available. There were about 15 other people waiting too. One automatic was given to someone else who arrived after us. The lack of communication from the staff was amazing. The young lady at the counter didn't seem to know anything. I would have thought it was simple- if a car is booked it is left their with your name on it. Up your game Alamo. We certainly wouldn't recommend your company to anybody!

I booked a rental car for 10:00am they told us to wait approx. 15min as the parking was full… it’s been 2 hours now and still waiting ! I wouldn’t recommend to rent a car with this group Alamo/entreprise/National as it’s the same fleet ! So basically all 3 of them have zero automatic car available !

Reserved an automatic. Despite informing them our plane would be late they gave our automatic car away. It was late and raining so we agreed to take a manual. Tried twice to exchange at another Alamo on our route but no one would help. Very disappointed.

Beware! Tire scam! As previousley reported by other reviews. No proper inspection of tires ar pickup. Tiniest if damage noted at dropoff 5mm/1mm deep. Was made to pay for a new tire. Avoid at all costs.

I rented a Corsa with an unlimited miles for a day, there was no Corsa at that time and they upgraded me with a small SUV with same rate. The staff was professional and helpfull. The car was quite good and well taken care of. Overall it was a great experience, I would recommend it.
