Steve is a nice enough chap and means well and fine for basic cycle repairs such as puncture etc. but probably best avoided for anything technical such as gears. I previously took a bike in for derailleur adjustment which should have been 20 minute job for competent mechanic he had it for a week did not hear anything had to chase. When I eventually collected it he had made it worse literally could not ride the bike and only 2/3 of gears would function. Charged me £60 in total don't know how he could stand there and watch me walk away with the bike after the mess he had made. Had to go elsewhere in the end the new mechanic condemned the bike as being "unsafe to ride" and was shocked at the workmanship.

Very friendly and helpful staff and nothing too much trouble. I have just started cycling again after many years of my bike collecting cobwebs. Steve did a service for me while I waited and my bike feels like new again - in fact better than new as Steve also adjusted my handle bars and now my wrists don’t ache!!Thank you for all the advice and the expert service and I will definitely be coming back to you for any further bike requirements. After having my bike serviced elsewhere, I realised the gears did not adjust correctly. Steve took my bike in even though he was busy, and sorted my gears (and my brakes!) out...with no fuss, no upsell and a bit of friendly banter. Really pleased and will be back when it's time for new chainset/dérailleurs.

Very friendly and helpful service. Work on my bike was all done to a high standard and at a very reasonable price.

If I could give six stars I would. Rear cassette and chain replaced in about ten minutes which was handy as I had to cycle to work afterwards Excellent service thank you Steve

What a great little find when a tyre warning flashed on my dash while driving on the A38 on the coldest day of the year. I certainly recommend Friends.

Previously friendly flexible service. Had my vehicle in for MOT was told needed imminent replacement of all discs and pads (discs were showing signs of scratching/fatigue). Luckily put it on hold since I was busy. Had to take vehicle back to main dealer for a warranty recal. Main dealer did a health check advised replace front pads but all discs and rear pads plenty of life left in them no problem. Always a dissapointment when the small to medium enterprises go on the take in tricky times

Great family run business and as a independent watchmaker this place saves me the time and aggro of doing it myself.
