This is genuinely some of THE best food I have ever had. I had the curried chicken with rice and peas, a corn fritters and fried dumplings and all of it was fantastic. The chicken was SO tender and the curry was spiced perfectly. The venue is also very pretty, lovely energy.
All the staff are incredibly friendly, some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Highly highly recommend

Brilliant place for an evening meal. A group of 6 of us had a fab meal here. The food was delicious and it's so nice to try some different cuisines other than the usual options. I shared a platter with my husband, followed by a delicious pudding. Loved the drinks options too! The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, and even the chef came out and had a little chat with us. A fantastic meal and for me a fabulous first Caribbean restaurant/food experience, yum!

with Jamaican cuisine finding its way into more and more cities I find myself drawn into trying different ones when I visit places. Mama Fays did not disappoint. small but with a nice atmosphere. friendly staff and the cook comes out to say hi, nice cocktails. I usually go for the currie mutton or jerk chicken but there was a mixed grill on the menu so I went for that. if I'm honest I would have preferred the jerk chicken or mutton curry as the mixed grill meat was tough but very flavourful. I'm not saying there was anything wrong its just my preference. that said I cant wait to get back there to try some more dishes. my partner had Leafy Salad with Avocado and Mango with chicken and it was really nice. worth a visit guys

Visited on a Saturday evening, but booked that day as walked past a few times and always people in. Nicely decorated vibrant place, friendly staff and excellent food. We sat in the rear of the restaurant, would of preferred the front but was full so understandable. We had the curried goat, with rice and peas and the jerk chicken with sweet potato fries. Both were really tasty and good size portions. Good range of drinks available at reasonable prices. We had cider and lager, but wine is also available. Would definitely visit again as there's lots more we want to try from the menu. Would recommend a visit.

Authentic Caribbean favourites served with a smile - so glad I dropped in! I chose sweetcorn fritters, followed by curried goat, finished off with mango cheesecake. Everything was fresh and quite delicious. Good selection of drinks too. Highly recommended.

Food was mediocre, service poor, sides weren't brought out with the mains, we reminded the waitress at the start of our meal that we had ordered sides and they were brought out as we were finishing our meals. The jerk pork pieces were small and dry, the Ital stew was okay, but the veg wasnt fresh and vibrant like most carribean food (potatoes had dark spots etc)! The rice was really good though and my daughter enjoyed her curry chicken. The rum punch was great, however a fly landed in my grandmothers and when the waiter was informed he just said it wouldn't have been sent out with a fly in it, so that was a waste of £7 as there was no offer of replacing it! Over all a disappointing evening meal.

Amazing little restaurant in town, served a great variety of food and drinks with tasteful décor inside. Plenty of seating although perhaps could do with accommodating more than one large group of people. They take table bookings if you prefer that to walk ins, and I was able to get a large cocktail for £4.50 which was a great price. The workers were extremely friendly and attentive. With a variety of starters I was able to have a lighter meal whilst my friends were just as accommodated for a larger meal. Recommend for a unique meal.
