Brilliant machine. Renovated our old carpet back to former glory. Saved us a fortune. We had thought of getting a new carpet but thought we'd try the rug doctor machine rental first. Glad we did. Cost about £23 for the machine rental and £10.99 for the detergent for two rooms. Collected from locker in local on Asda. Very simple.

I rented a rug doctor to clean my new flats carpet. Upon bringing it home and opening it that’s when things went downhill. The machine stank of a bad odour, you can see it has not been cleaned as it’s filthy and mucky water from previous customer left in there. Not only was the machine terrible at cleaning but also left dirt marks on my carpet. The handheld tools was damaged which meant I can’t use it. I called customer service who said I can return this machine and get another one. Went and got a replacement machine which again was filthy and this time this machine would leak water so my carpet is drenched now and it’s been 24 hours and it’s still not dry. Terrible product wouldn’t even get it even it was free. With corona I thought they would extra precautions to clean the machine which they haven’t. ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH!!! NOT COVID PROFF

We hired a machine from our local outlet.
When we got it home we found that it was filthy. We had to spend quite a bit of time cleaning the brushes and wheels in particular as they were completely clogged up with animal hair. The machine did a fair job of cleaning the carpets but leaked out water from underneath. We feel that the machines should be checked regularly after each customer so that you can be sure of getting a machine in good condition.

We hire a Rug Doctor every year to freshen up our carpets. It does an excellent job, cleans them up really well and we always use a generic carpet cleaner as their own seems to smell unpleasant.

Well I have seen some of The reviews it’s ready isn’t rug doctor‘s fault don’t forget you are purchasing from dealers that don’t check the machine back in I have a retail outlet which uses rug doctor i’ve never had any complaints from my customers they say it is amazing and we have a carpet retailers shop we sell some amazing carpets and I have been fully trained and did carpet cleaning before we took the shop over Bing experienced in supplying and fitting new carpets and previously cleaning existing carpet installations I can now say the rug doctor is one of the best hire machines chemicals are amazing and backup and service is tremendous lots of people ask me how can I look after our new carpets are always say vacuum vacuum vacuum and clean it every 12 months it’s all about looking after and maintenance would you neglect your BMW and would you service it regularly if you don’t it will breakdown it’s the same with the carpets The rug doctor will remove grit and dust which will cut and destroy your carpets my advice is use the rug doctor more frequently anyway it’s up to you probably cost you a lot of money and you walk on it daily you spill stains on it daily you abuse it more than you think it’s not the carpet retailer‘s fault that your carpet wears out it’s your fault for not looking after it properly rent the rug doctor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor
customers service. Machine was filthy when I got it and the manager refused to speak to me when I called. No specific detergent for pet urine stains available in the store I rented it from although was guaranteed that they would have it. Refused a discount as it took me half an hour to clean the machine. This was from the office in Worthing.

No stars for a company that is happy to take your money however never there to support the end user when there is an issue with the machine.I have phone 11 times...get to next in qué and then I am cut.off.
Wish I had never bought a Rug Doctor,no support when you need it,next machine will be another make.Hideous company.

Very dissatisfied with the rug doctor. Hired it from their outlets for 24 hours. Used with their spot remover detergent as well as their pre treatment for stains. This was a water stain which had been left a few weeks. The rug doctor did nothing and it still looks the same. Yes the rug doctor removed dirt which can't be seen from the carpet and the water ran brown when emptying out the tank. But no good for stains. We are now hiring professional carpet cleaners to come and do the job for the same price if hired and purchased the soaps for. Won't be using again.
