In an effort to clean my carpet after attempted mould removal, I made the egregious error of using way too much carpet shampoo, so I was calling carpet cleaning services in a bit of a panic. Although Shaun was fully booked up until after Christmas (+7 days away) he was kind enough to spend over 15 minutes of his time talking to me about about how to treat my carpet for the time being, explaining the pros and cons of self-bought mini machines, machine rentals and cleaning services. For the issue I had, he explained that a vax would not have not been effective enough as the tank is way too small to cope with the amount of foam that would be created from the carpet. In addition, I would have needed to buy a lot of de-foamer which would have been very expensive. He therefore saved me from purchasing a machine that wouldn't have done anything and would have probably have made it worse. He advised me to get the carpet dry by putting my heater on full and air fan on, whilst leaving the window open for ventilation: that advice alone has probably saved me hours of worry and panic. He also explained that the smell is currently coming from the air condensating/the carpet drying and the circulation/ventilation will help the smell for the time being. He said it might take a couple of days to dry after which the carpet will probably crystallise in some places, although you will hopefully be able to vaccuum this up afterwards. Thanks again for the help! Tom
