This was the first time I had bought flooring of any kind.
The chaps at Carpet barn were friendly and helpful every visit we made to look at products. We were offered advice and suggestions with no pressure or hard sell from anyone we spoke with.
We eventually chose parquet Karndean for downstairs, a knotted wool for the stairs and a sumptuous deeper pile for lounge and bedrooms.
Carpet barn liaised with our builders to attend site and measure the house and once done were able to offer a price that was competitive than everywhere else we looked (when you're spending that amount of money you have to shop around to see what you're getting).
Booking in to order and fit was a painless process and the people in store were more than understanding when our completion date changed not once but twice!
When it came time to the actual fitting we were very happy with the speed and quality of the work completed by Ed (fitter) as well as advice and discussions he had with us. We still can't believe he managed to level and lay a whole ground floor in parquet Karndean so quickly and with such a beautiful final look.
With specific regards to the carpet fitter, we had the pleasure of having Scott in our home to lay the carpets. A polite gentleman, who phoned me first thing to keep me updated. He was prompt and respectful both of the current situation (COVID) and of our home. He was good enough to complete some of the preparatory work that I thought I had done in full prior, this was of course to ensure that the carpets were properly laid (going above and beyond what was expected). The carpets were perfectly laid and look amazing. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was not even the slightest of scuffs to the paintwork (testament to his proficiency). All offcuts and other rubbish was taken leaving our home tidy with nothing more than a vacuum required. Professional, friendly, great workmanship; would definitely have in our home again and certainly recommend.
Not what I expected at all - we could have gone to a regular high street carpet store and bought quality carpets for less money.
Unfortunately I would definitely not recommend!
The team seem to be very distant and seem to have many other things to do other than serving customers.
I wandered in and spent 20 minutes sifting through the vinyl flooring before finding what i wanted. the prices all seem to be about 30-40 % more expensive than normal especially considering i was looking for a off-cut. £80 for a 3x3 seems very expensive.
Once i found what i wanted i went over to the sales guys who were both trying to ignore that i was actually there and ready to buy.
It was almost a competition between them to see who cracked first and who would have to end up serving me.
With a tagline of "All the leading makes of flooring, carpets, beds and mattresses at the very best prices" i think they are losing their edge with he prices and the customer services. Shame really as thats the one thing that kept the customers coming through the door.
Their fitter measured my Karndean flooring and fitted.I had two Unopened boxes left over and i wanted to return back n store manager said you can’t return back because it’s comes from special order? Really !? So i have to trough away £280
There is no return policy details on the
website or a contact to progress my complaint.
In the past i ordered Karndean flooring from Tile Flair n i had few boxes left over n they happily let me return them back .Wish i just choosed flooring from them.
Very Dissapointed and definitely wont return back to their stores! once they have your money, they aren't interested anymore.
