St Margaret Mary RC Church

I took my grandmother here for services on Christmas Eve. I'm a non-religious person but she really wanted to go so I went along too. The choir was tuneful and we in the audience were encouraged to sing along with the songs. There are a list of hymn numbers on the wall up front and they gave us a book on entering with the words in.

It's been a while since I've sat through one of these shows and this was a particularly long one at two hours. The fella in white up at the front was very friendly and was clear he was welcoming to even those of us that weren't religious. He could have used a little more editing in his speech as it was a little repetitive but I think the point he was trying to get across was that we should try to all be good humans. I liked that he was open to all humans in his church as most times I've been in churches it was to play or song for people and I've still felt uncomfortable because I'm not religious but he seemed fine with it.

The benches were pretty hard but I did see that there were some cushions around if you needed one. I guess if you went early enough, you'd probably be ok. I didn't need my coat which was nice. There was a lot of smoke from the candles and smoke ball he was waving around, so both me and my father thought we should have brought our inhalers. If you suffer from bad asthma definitely bring yours.

I'm not convinced that churches are a good thing in general but if you have to go to one, this one was quite interesting and they had loads of helper people around.

Lovely Church and parishioners but the Priest intimated quite clearly that I was not welcome as I received the host by intinction. We agreed that I would not return.

Lovely church but beware - 20+ minute sermons!

Friendly community of Catholic worshippers; nice church

This is a lovely church with a friendly and welcoming community quite spacious inside... Very nice for private prayers just to sit alone if wanted.

Fr Rob is very friendly and the congregation are welcoming.

Modern Catholic church. Very serene and spiritual

No alternative was given to me, as stated. The priest clearly stated that I would not be welcome.
