I went there in May, looking for someone's grave. We found it, the tombstone several inches under earth and grass. Tombstone had gone flat from vertical and no one noticed... We uncovered (with the help of a groundskeeper) and he refurbished the stone for 50 quid. The grass when I got there was about 2 feet high. When I returned the next week, the entire cemetery had been groomed. It does suffer from a bit of benign neglect. Unless the family is faithful to their departed, there is not much upkeep going on there.

I don't think it's fair that you close so early to be honest.

What about those that finish work at 5/6pm and can't get the weekends off?

You should make it fair for everyone to see they're loved ones at least open till 6pm.

Also a man that was burying my sister in January gone, he threw planks of wood on top of someone else's grave which I find very dis-respectful and to then lean on they're head stone which people pay so much money to make they're loved ones graves look pretty then you get men like this come along a lean on they're head stone. It's like sitting on someone's face. Where is the respect these days? Half of the head stones in this grave are not treated with care and i can see why. Its not the bold white male with tattoes its his ffriend with brown wavy hair up to his shoulder length.

I understand the pressure of burying someone and how hard it can get but don't take it out on other people's graves. Look after those like they're your own people. Because if I catch them again when I come here I will be taking evidence and reporting this behaviour.

It's NOT ACCEPTABLE.

My parents are both buried here and have always found the staff helpful and pleasant . I think they do there best with there budget and it’s an old place .
I spend many times here relaxing and putting the world to rights in what’s a busy city . I could pick few faults and why would I ? Keep up the good work .
If you get a chance it’s worth a visit just for the calmness of the place in the city .

Keep safe everybody

Staff at Lambeth Cemetery destroyed my baby daughter's name plaque, as well as two other babies. They have also swapped the name plaques for my daughter and 2 other babies buried at the cemetery, which has caused much confusion and distress to the families involved. Now the families involved do not know which one is their child's grave as a result. We have been left heartbroken and deeply hurt, and they have made our grief harder to cope with.

With all due respect to those that led our service for a much loved one recently deceased, to say the least, we were all left disheartened whilst grieving due to an abrupt loud interruption ordering us to finish up and clear out before our time were up. It is such a sad thing to see that it has all become about rushed ceremonies and more slots to fill. With respect to anyone grieving a loss, I sincerely hope your service does not get shut down as ours did. Last goodbyes are never easy and quick. The least we can expect from staff in these establishments are understanding, compassion and empathy. Especially being their job and as I am sure they have seen so many of these services they should be completely embedded with such qualities. 2/5

As for the funeral directors and funeral celebrant that held the service and everything up until and after the service, were absolutely brilliant! job well done and very well mannered. 5/5

Sad times bring people here. Staff are very helpful. The place is kept clean enough. Parking available in cemetery. Also easy to find, behind St George's hospital.

Sadly I feel the state of the cemetery is deteriatng. The bins are few and over filled. There is rubbish around graves and there are not enough water taps.

This cemetery has gone from bad to worse.
Bins are always full to the brim and the grass never seems to get cut.
It looks like a jungle.
I always come to visit my mum and dad every couple of weeks so I know.
The money you pay for a burial plot is astronomical and this is the way they treat you when you’re gone.
The place has gone to pot!!😡
