In the middle of the city you’ll find this lovely spot,
ideal to enjoy a walk, a run or your daily trot.
Maybe bring a coffee or tea that you’ve previously bought,
will add some texture and vibe to your life’s plot.

Tombs range from majestic monuments to military graves,
Angel statues and catacombs that invite the weak and the braves.
It’s an open space established in 1839
A lovely place to visit, a recommendation of mine.

Peaceful yet active. Interestingly this cemetery seems to double as a neighborhood park. We chose to walk through on our way to the Chelsea game and we were pleasantly surprised to see so many people walking the park...I mean cemetery.

It's quite overgrown with bushes, flowering plants, and mature trees.

Quite a few joggers, walkers, and a few bicyclists about.

Most of the deceased are from early 20th century and earlier so it's not as if there are many/any mourners here...again really making this a unique location that's not spooky or mournful but rather pleasant, peaceful, and dare I say vibrant.

Looking forward to visiting again when in town again.

I visited here in January. It is a nice peaceful area with interesting structures to see, but is right next to Chelsea football stadium so is likely to be noisier during home matches.

A fascinating cemetery and it's huge. It's very relaxing to explore, lots of quiet areas and plenty of benches too. The flora and fauna are interesting as well. The mausoleums and graves are a potted history of London's inhabitants since the 1840s.

Old Bromptom Cementary is one of the iconic places in West London and Chelsea area. As you can see from the pictures, the trees sourounding the long walk are magnificent regardless the time of the year. Maybe some can find it morbid, but it has become the "park" of the neighborhood where you can find people exercising, children riding bikes or families and couples walking around. Tombs are mostly from the 1800-1960s, and has an air of barroc. It has many very friendly squirrels that will approach you for food, as well as loads of giant crows. If you are ever in the area is a great visit/walk.

Lovely walk through would be interesting to know if anyone of note is there. Wide walkways through are perfect to get from South Ken to Earls Court station.
Overgrown, large and small headstones. Am sure a half day could easily be spent if wanted to research.

A nice walk in a little bit of shade in the heat. The tomb that I came across, other than Emily Pankhurst that I thought was worth sharing was the father of epidemiology John Snow who also administered chloroform to Queen Victoria in childbirth. His memorial is (if you enter via the west Brompton Station entrance by the cafe) take the first left turn and its on the right about 20m along. I've posted a pic of the information card re what he did. Its a bit overgrown at the moment but with the weather there isn't much they can do about it. Lovey 20 min stroll at lunchtime
