Really lovely walled cemetery. In a peaceful part of Hammersmith/Putney located just off of the water ways/Thames which is a very popular walk.

Some interesting stones and trees growing through the graves. It’s well kept but some parts seem to have been allowed to fall apart which in my opinion is fine for a cemetery!

Work thing coming off the Thames walk and checking out when the weather is right.

Beautiful!
Not been here for many years since I last walked through it.
Exceedingly tranquil.
Look out for the painter Whistler's tomb. Not hard to miss as it stands out from all the others in greened bronze with feminine figures stood at each corner of his tomb.
You can walk through from Chiswick Mall, and St Nicholas Church walk through the entire cemetery turn right out of the entrance and hit Chiswick House and Gardens.
I'm pretty sure that someone from St Nicholas Church does guided tours of the famous dead at rest here.
The painter Hogarth is also buried either here or in the neighbouring attached St Nicholas Church graveyard. But I've not yet spotted it even though it's surrounded by iron railings. So I've probably taken a photo of it and not realised it. Hogarth's House (his country residence) can be found on the far side of Chiswick House Gardens flanking the dual carriageway.

This is a nice cemetery with a lot old tombs. It is spacious but also calm and peaceful. It is close to the St Nicholas’ church which is also very charming. You can visit it while you are having a walk along the Thames.
