This is one of my favourite places in London. It is beautiful gothic urban wilderness with a grounding reminder of many who have passed before us. Striking, peaceful and mostly reclaimed by tumbling lush nature. Walking up the meandering crunching gravel paths and the more adventurous paths between in any weather always feels like such a serene and earthy treat.

A nice stroll for those who like peace and nature. It's a big cemetery that goes uphill where you can sit on a bench and be with your thoughts.

Really nice place to have a stroll around in spring time. Rose gardens are adorable!

Some say it is a sad place, but this cemetery has so many famous people buried there it becomes a walk into London's historic past.
Well kept. Free parking and most amazing, a charging point for electric cars.

Couldn't find a toilet. Didn't fancy going behind a tombstone, so found myself at the new West Norwood library next door. Good to know.

Well organized cemetery on a fairly big land. Many different types of graves including more than 100 y. old ones.
It's particularly beautiful at spring time for the flourishing tree's.
The part with the crypts inside the fences garden is one of my favourite parts. You can find it at the back of the cemetery.
Also, the crematorium is an interesting part of it as well and recommended to see to have a complete idea about this place.
It's a historical gem and well deserves to be preserved for the next generation.

We went for a really beautiful walk around this cemetery on a mild October day. The peace of the cemetery and surrounding gardens acted as an ideal locale for a reflective soul-search and quality time with the family. With outstanding views over south London and beyond, plus tombs and mausoleums entrenched in history, I couldn't think of a better place for a stroll on a Sunday morning.

Very well maintained, all things considered. I find peace in its rose garden where my father's remains were lain to rest and a memorial was commissioned by me.

Very beautiful cemetery. Lots of helpful signs for walkers and maps to indicate where you are in the premises.

Beautiful Greek style graves and lovely history given behind the area. Highly recommend for a day walk to get some sun or on Halloween!
