Yeovil Cemetery

Commonwealth War Graves

This Cemetery is never open. My relatives are buried their and every time I visit to pay my respects the place is shut! I work during the day and even at 1600 it is locked solid. I visited just before Christmas and it was shut at the weekend too.

Don't bother ringing either. No one ever picks up. Perhaps I've been unlucky but all I want to do it put some flowers on my relatives graves and I can't ever do it.

Why does it say it's open 24 hours when they clearly are not? We drove over 30 miles to put flowers on my mum's grave for Christmas and it was shut, if the right times of opening are published it may help with planning journeys and causing less upset.

Yeovil Cemetery is the main Crematorium of the town of Yeovil.
Here lies graves of upto 300 years old. Just taking a walk around this place you'll be able to relive the old history of the people who used to live here and about their heritage. There are emotional message and photos on some of the graves as well.

Not the happiest of places to walk through as cemeteries go (maybe I just don't like Yeovil) anyway somebody needs to sort access out for later evenings and especially Weekends as it's a long way round and only 1 gate open at the weekends ! Shocking really

Parked on South way drive tended graves went to leave at 4.20 gate was locked so had to walk all the way around to get back to car Would have been nice if the man could have shouted over to let me no .don't no why they don't lock them both together

Beautiful cemetery. The men who work there, day in and day out, in all weathers, do a fantastic job of preserving this place. Much appreciated.
