Interesting, but not that much to see.

A rare place to find, so peaceful, refreshing with no religious back drop

A lovely example of an early chapel. It cab be quite difficult to find however. On arrival at the location you will see a private residence. To the left of that property there is a 6 foot wooden gate that is not signposted. Go through there and follow an L shaped alley that leads you to the entrance. It is totally self enclosed so don't worry about trespassing. A helpful notice board is inside placed by English heritage.

It would have helped if the surrounding signs told us it was closed. We took a special detour to see this place only to find it was closed, and looked to have been for some time.

Tiny ancient chapel truly hidden in the depths of rural Suffolk. Despite all the signage, St. James' Chapel somehow resists discovery, so isolated is it within country lanes that just seem to loop around into one another without sense of direction! No doubt worth the discovery of you do locate it, but the site seems to have become permanently, rather than 'temporarily closed'...
