Gourmet Wok

Just had a delivery from Gourmet Wok this evening was really surprised by the delivery time they were here within 15 mins.

Always order from here the food is good especially the Hot and Sour soup.

To the driver sorry if I looked surprised just didn't expect it to come so soon thanks !

We Ordered satay chicken with mushrooms veg & bamboo shoots, it tasted very bland & like it all had been cooked in the same liquid . More like a soup no taste at all.
Would not order food from here again very disappointed, awful food .

After reading so many 1 star reviews I was sceptical on what sort of takeaway would arrive, not arrive at all.
It's clear, that some people just complain for the sake of a refund.
Food was lovely, hot, tasty and well prepared. This will now be my go-to local for a Chinese takeaway.
It's old school and delivers it's own orders, they don't have a plethora of Uber drivers! So just be patient and you won't be disappointed!

Good food and nice portions. Nice to have a local Chinese with good quality. Not too long to wait for the food either.

Beware - dodgy seafood!! Tried Gourmet Wok because our regular Chinese takeaway is on holiday. Seemed alright, and I was OK, but two hours later my partner, who had the king prawns, was spewing it all up in the bathroom. We'll go without rather than risk that again.

As we use this take-away on a regular basis myself and my partner noticed that the same dishes we always order were different this evening in appearance and taste. After calling in to let them know that the dishes were not to the usual standard we were told abruptly that nothing can be done and all they could do was give us 10% off our next order.

Our phone call was not to ask for money back or a discount but to try and help from this happening again as there may have been a change in the kitchen for example that could be rectified in order to bring the food back to its former high standards.

Whilst all of this was being discussed the phone was put to one side without warning for a customer to be served. Two minutes of being left to wait was apparently the best way to treat this situation.

Terrible customer service.

We will not be using this takeaway again. This seems a shame after years of great service and food.

Ordered a takeaway. Pancake roll that used to be so good was now filled almost entirely with just white cabbage. Duck dish contained a lot of onions and was rather lite on duck. I would prefer smaller portions if economies need to be made. Will return to give it another go, because Gourmet Wok has been so very good in the past.
