Ochirly Oriental Restaurant & Bar

Ordered online for delivery, that never turned up, when we called chasing they said they couldn’t accept our order as they were too busy to deliver, but never made any attempt to tell us this. They said we could collect the order and it would be ready in 30-45 minutes, 2.5 hours after originally ordering we are still in the shop waiting for our food. Minimal customers here. Terrible terrible customer service and communication. I appreciate you have said you are busy but do not accept online orders without at least communicating with your customers. Whilst waiting, the restaurant were still taking phone orders for 20-30 min wait time, had no idea what had happened to our order, kept shouting at each other, kept fobbing us off with “it will be 15 minutes/it went out for delivery”, nearly 3 hours later we gave up and went home starving. Ruined our family occasion this evening.

Update: Gave Ochirly a second chance this evening following a personal apology from the owner which I thought was very kind and genuine. The meal was very nice. I hope they take on board feedback to improve communication/service during busy times, but have since been very apologetic. Thank you

Decent Chinese food for the area, with some tasty starters and mains. Delivery driver is lovely. Service is appalling, quoted delivery time is not short on fraudulent, opening time reliability is hugely disappointing, and communication between staff is negligible. Multiple experiences showed that if an order is late or incorrect then false information is given to satisfy the customer, and/or the customer is in the wrong for the staff placing an order of the wrong item, to the extent that the staff argue, as if the customer is incompetent of ordering a common main course or starter well known and ordered throughout the country. I feel bad that the attitude, tardiness & dismissive ethic of this establishment has led me to boycott it, leaving me without decent and, generally, well prepared Chinese food. Very sad and bitterly disappointed.

What a lovely place. Their food is delicious. Their service was great. Food was served very quickly staff was very welcoming. We bought our wine into the restaurant.

Ive never had a problem with this takeaway. Food Quality is very good!!

I have to defend this takeaway from the 1 star reviews its recicved recently, demand for takeaway food is higher than its ever been and i know this takeaway is finding it hard to get staff.

Give this place a chance. They are worth it!

Update what a difference a few months make
we ordered again this evening for 7pm got there at five to meal was ready for collection.

Their a new business give them a chance all hospitality trade are struggling for staff

We Ordered from here on sat eve for a delivery between 6-15 and 6-45 that didn’t come
I rang at 7-15 to ask where it was they apologised for it being late but they are short of drivers and said we could collect in 30 mins

My wife waited with several other very disgruntled customers for 15 mins over the half hour arranged collection time no communication from any staff so we left and bought food from another take away

I then received a call at 8-05 from the delivery driver saying she was at the site gate I explained what had happened refused the order

Today I got a phone call off the owner apologising for the mistake it was his fault as he never communicated the change to his staff so they sent the order out. I told him we appreciate the apology and will try them again when we’re next in Porthmadog

Ordered for delivery told 1 hour rang up after 2 hours told it had just been cooked and would be with us in 15 minutes artived 2.40 hours after ordering. They gave a discount due to waiting so long but when we sat down to eat they had missed a complete dish. Shame as food is nice. Word of advice dont order for delivery.

Food was quite nice. Not cheap,phone up or order via internet. Not dine in anymore,good job very tired tatty area up to counter.

Delivery was over 1.5 hours late but once it did arrive the food was fabulous
