Mr Peter

Ordered chicken in lemon chicken sauce, there was no lemon sauce just dry chicken. Phoned to complain and was offered £1.20 back for a meal that I couldn’t eat, eventually agreed to refund the chicken but not the rice. The spare ribs were dry and the sweet and sour sauce was thick and more like jelly. There was no customer service, and after 26 years will not be using again as throughly disappointed.

Food from here is always really good, fresh and hot. A lot of places in Ashford seem to taste the same (same ingredient supplier maybe?) but Mr Peters always tastes different & authentic and is not comparable to the others. Portion sizes are also bigger at equivalent prices.

Sometimes delivery can be slightly over an hour but very rare (mostly just when they're busy), drivers always really friendly and I've only had a problem with an incorrect order once in the years I've been ordering from there, which the lady on the phone was very apologetic and had the correct food send out at lightning speed.

Best Chinese in Ashford by far :)

Haven't been to Mr Peters for long time but after tasting the food again will definitely be going back

Used this place for many years until changing to Imperial China in town a couple of years ago after a bad experience with Mr Peter. Thought we would try again tonight as heard there were new owners. Ordered at 6:30pm, was given the option to choose 7pm as a delivery option (a little ambitious but thought ok). Order complete, order accepted by business 10 mins later and given 8pm as a delivery time. Wasn’t too bothered with this as I knew 7pm was a little too soon and thought it would probably arrive 8pm at the latest. Forward to 8:10pm and thought we would just phone Mr Peter to check where the food was. The woman said they hadn’t even started cooking the food 10 mins after the time they said they would deliver and that it would be another 15 mins if we collected, probably more if we waited for delivery. I understand it is busy on Saturday nights but this place has a bad history of continuing to accept orders even when they’re rammed and busy (this is coming straight from the lovely Irish guy that works in there) and don’t know when to say no, poor business decisions. Not going again. Appalling.

My first order with these guys and absolutely lovely. Great portion size on the beef curry and on the chips. I don't usually eat chips but I wanted them this time and they were good and good amount to. Egg fried rice was good as well as the beef curry.. very happy will definitely order again from them.

Arrived in good time.
Sweet and sour has so much improved, not vinegar tasting no more. Chicken in the balls/batter was large.
Beef chop suey was very tender, i cut it with my spoon, nice chunks of carrots.
Special fried rice was full with meat and prawns, with spring onions + peas
Sorry anyone who gets offended by the spoon, but I am a lazy eater.
