Lucky Star Chinese Takeaway

Visited the lucky star after a recommendation from my girlfriend. Even though it was a busy Saturday evening, the service was fast and friendly. Seems like a lovely family run takeaway. Would 100% recommend the roast duck, was delicious!!

Just ordered £30 worth of food, the chips in the bbq 3in1 look like they’ve been under a lamp for an hour. Solid, dry and inedible.
The crispy lemon chicken is chewy as anything and looks like the lemon sauce had curdled as it’s all lumpy and jellyfied.
The chicken in the green pepper and black bean sauce is chewy and dry.
The prawn toast is solid and over cooked.
And the chicken in the chowmein was chewy.
Very friendly staff, just a shame about the food quality, possibly due to the large order. The decent thing was that the food was piping hot.
Very disappointed as £30 is a lot of money to waste on food.

I'm sorry to say but it just wasn't good. The sauces tasted really weird and not like you'd expect as per other Chinese take aways we have had. The chicken balls were tough and tasted old. As did the chips. Spring rolls were OK.. I hate leaving bad reviews but I was very disappointed after spending £32. 😔 I wouldn't order from here again.

Very disappointed. Chips were dry ! Mongolian beef was flavourless ! Very salty Chinese , waste of money.

Not the quickest service but incredible food worth the wait. Salt and pepper chips and Satay fantastic were mind blowing, great portions and super tasty.

Used this place for last 15 years but tonight took the biscuit. Order said it be 45 to a hour.... got to hour and half rang to ask if all OK said sorry be another 30mins .... rang when it got to another hour for them to say sorry will cook it now will take 20mins !!! Canceled order and won't use again waited for 2 and half hour that is ridiculous for fast food when original told max a hour and then to find out after that time not even started cooking it. We thought quality prior was massively reduce but tonight nail in coffin terrible won't be using again so now need to find another Chinese!! But think it be worth it woman was rude on last call and won't be having mine or any of my family's money again!

Easily the best Chinese in Nottinghamshire! Quality customer service everytime we go in. Always cater to any specifications what we require even if it isn't on the menu. Definitely worth a try if you haven't already!

Tried this takeaway for the first time this week as our usual haunt was closed. I was impressed with the flavour of the food and will return again next time we want a Chinese takeaway.
