Food is pretty good! I like the wandering dragon and crispy salted chili chicken. Be advised: they don't have condiments or chopsticks, so you need to have any sauces you like at home. Also, rice and noodles sold separately.

Having been disappointed with the Fish and Chips and Indian take away meals on previous visits to Oundle we decided to try the Yangtse River takeaway. We wish we hadn't bothered!
The pancake roll was overcooked and hard to even cut into.
The Crispy Aromatic Duck was overcooked, dry and burnt
The Beef in Oyster Sauce was ok
The Noodles were ok
The Lemon Chicken consisted of small pieces of (dry) chicken cooking in a fairly nasty batter.
The Mixed Vegetables were ok
Wont be rushing back.

Been coming here since I was a teenager, now 30 years later and the food is still superb! VERY friendly guy taking orders, food was super fresh, king prawns an absolute delight!! Thoroughly recommend, cash only though, so don't forget to bring some with you!

Picture this. My friend and I are sitting by a river, craving sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice. The temptation is overpowering. We run - no, sprint - through many fields of livestock to reach our trusty wagon. An agonising 14 minute drive passes, and there, on the horizon, is the Yangtze River Chinese takeaway. Alas! Due to some dubious cash only policy, we, with only cards and rumbling stomachs, seek out the nearest ATM. However, no ATM can be found, so cashback from the local Co-op must suffice. Green olives. Pitted. Highly recommended with your next Chinese. Not 10 minutes later, we return to our automobile and devour the generous portions of ambrosia, food of the gods, that we have just obtained, for merely ten pounds and sixty pence. Yes, the chicken was crispy, and the rice warm and welcoming, perfected with cashback olives. Delicious, perfect, exquisite. 100% would recommend.

Sub par Chinese takeaway. It offers a range of food but all of it is lacking in flavour. The prices are fine, the service is quick, but the food is underwhelming. It's also worth noting that it only serves egg noodles, so not a vegan friendly place.

Everything tasted sour and the sauce could barely be classed as sauce with how gelatinous it was. The neat packaging was genuinely the best part, probably would've tasted better than what was inside it as well.
