Mayflower chinese takeawy

Today was the first time we ordered from here the food was very bland and was tastless, the crispy beef was rubbery, the chicken in the noddles was very floppy and processed. Dumplins deep fried so nothing left on the inside. Delivery on time but due to food quality we won't use again.

Order regular from here, best tasting food i have had in a long while.portions are very generous and the curries are epic!

The portion sizes are what sets them apart for me, but the flavour in their dishes are pretty authentic and without a doubt delicious.

The prices recently went up but that is to be expected, however, their menu prices are not up to date so keep that in mind once you order!

Tried to call the takeaway before ordering to ask some questions. No one would pick up. I ordered on just-eat and the prices seem reasonable/average. Ordered at 19:45 and it said estimated delivery 20:50.

At 20:50 it said my order had been successfully delivered but it hadn’t (presumably to meet some delivery quota). I called and called with no luck getting through to someone. Just as I was about to get in the car and go to the place the food turned up at 21:10

I ordered chicken chow mien, chips and “hot and spicy” curry sauce. The curry sauce tasted okay, but not hot and spicy. I don’t fall out with it too much because it tasted fine. The chow mien was cold, but tasted okay, I can imagine fresh it’s quite decent. Chips were beyond cold and bland, had to bin them.

I wouldn’t swear off a place like this but I’ll be trying others before going back. I’m new to the area and I’ve since asked neighbours and friends who all agree that this takeaway is ‘unreliable’. A lot of the 5 star reviews are of unverified users with very few reviews.

Been using mayflower since around may 2021 and they by far are the best we have ever used. So friendly, accommodating, and quick with orders. Not had an issue and they even give us some nice freebes every now and then. Always a pleasure ordering from them!

Blooming bloody marvellous...the portions are huge and the food is always tasty. We live in a different area but on visiting Newport this is where we order...thanks
