Hotel Chocolat

Premium chocolate for those who have acquired the taste and can afford the prices. The boxes did not label the ingredients for each piece in the box - totally unsatisfactory for those with nut allergies. The creativity for the choices in the dark chocolate categories was lame.

The coffee choices were token varieties.

Popped in for some Christmas gifts. Not a great selection. Advent Calendars still full price even though in December. The takeaway food and drink bar busy as ever. Staff friendly as always.

I definitely go here too much than I should, but I am always greeted by friendly faces. The chocolate whip is to die for, and they are dog friendly! Definitely a great place to get your chocolate fix.

Extremely disappointed with the cafe part. Lovely selection of items, but let down by two things: poor management on the counter and the queue of 8 people that took 35 minutes to get through. Hot chocolate was okay so not at all worth the wait - which was not caused by any customer orders, it was the two members of staff not being clear on how to manage complex orders and not having the systems in place to cope. They seemed stressed. I think management need to offer better support to the team here, and take a note out of major coffee chains; process the orders quickly, label the cups, have a member of staff complete them in turn, and leave people waiting *after* they’ve ordered so they don’t abandon the queue. Completing the order whilst the customer is at the till is super inefficient!

Hot chocolate review: poor flavour, wasn’t as creamy as expected, but not too hot and quite drinkable. Cocoa whip was a bit much for me - heavy, sweet, strangely chemically - so ended up taking it off the top.

Please switch from plastic disposable cutlery!

had a lovely experience being served by daniel, it was so nice to be greeted with such a warm smile :)

Took my son here for a treat after his school trip in town. He was so happy, and pleased with his hot chocolate. The lovely lady who served us, was chatting to him, even as she had such a busy day, had the time to talk for a moment.
