Cocoa Bala

Me and my family absolutely love this shop! After a camping trip in Bala, we always take the kids here on the way home. They love the animal chocolates and pizza box chocolates. It's also a great shop to buy gifts from and I treat myself now and again to the lovely chocolate boxes. I cannot fault this place and the lady on the counter is always so lovely and friendly. I'd highly recommend.

Absolutely adore Cocoa's chocolates, nothing quite like them. 😊 Gutted after my visit today though, website and Google state open Sundays. Opening times on the door of the shop states closed Sundays. 3.5hr round journey, so yup, gutted. Still, roll on the next trip up, I will get some choccies soon.

I visited the Cocoa shop for the first time and loved it! Was keen to try Bala's own Gwynedd Confectionary chocolates of which they stock plenty including seasonal ones, gifts and novelty animal ones (I tried a sheepdog, tiger and crab and they were delicious!). Cocoa also sell luxury chocolates too like truffles if you want something a bit more special. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and happy to provide some information on the chocolate I was buying. I can't wait to return and try some more of the gorgeous chocolate.

I bought some of the Unicorn Whoopsies (beguiled by the packaging!) The chocolate drops didn't taste very nice and they were just shaped like buttons not like whoopsies as I'd expected. More worryingly, the chocolate does not melt so I wonder what extras are in it! I've checked the website for the ingredients and it just says "To be added". My purchase was made in November 2019 so plenty of time to add the ingredients

We visit Wales regularly and without fail we always visit Cocoa Bala! They have a great selection of chocolate, sweets, ice creams and fudge etc. The chocolate hedgehogs are my favourite!!
