Holy Trinity Church in Leighton is one of the best examples of an estate church in Wales. Built in the 1850s at the request of John Naylor of Leighton Hall, the church is highly decorated, Gothic revival and very impressive.
The current main entrance is unusually into the chancel though there are two other doorways in below the tower. Inside, the nave roof is very high and steeply pitched, lending the church a cavernous air. The Forrest and Bromley stained glass windows are very intricate and in their original condition, along with the tiling.
The octagonal south east chapel is topped with an pyramidal roof. Within is a mausoleum and the Leighton Angel.
An attractive church, built by old fashioned, God fearing Victorians.

I have photographed a lot of churches over the years, but this one takes the biscuit .The architecture is fantastic. The attention to detail is second to none. Worthy of an Oscar in my eyes. Off the beaten track, a gem of a design. From a distance the spire is visible from a far. Yet up close WOW . Please visit and tell me if I'm wrong.
