Lonely old ruin well church tower, in the middle of nowhere. Hard to find too, but pleasant walk to it once you find the way. Not a lot to see but if you're into old stones, and trying to read the names on old graves in peaceful surroundings, it's ok.

Beautiful, charming place , nestled down an old path that leads out of Thundrige into the countryside. You may need your wellies though , as in places very muddy and because it's near the stream/river also floods probably. But a quiet location, lots of People though do walk this way as it is on a main walking route so you will never be truly alone unless you go at night but even then you might not be ;). It was also very well looked after , no litter which was really nice. If you do need the loo make sure you go before you get here as it is not near any facilities. You can park in Thundrige and then walk to it. Thundrige itself seems a quaint little village/ town not much there though that I could see. A brilliant location for dog walking and in summer would be lovely to picnic. For a history buff like myself was a lovely place with an interesting atmosphere. They do say the location is haunted so who knows...

Supposedly, this is the most haunted church in the UK. I enjoyed the walk to and from and the church was nice to look at. With it being derelict, you can’t enter the church and there is no immediate parking. I can imagine it being a nice dog walking spot if local or a quick detour if you’re following the Hertfordshire Way.

All that remains of this church is the tower & headstones. Lots of folklore surrounds Little Old St.Marys & how it became known as Cold Christmas. Access is by foot only along footpaths that boarder fields,so if wet good footwear may be needed. In my opinion a very picturesque place & you can spend quite some time reading the headstones.

Can't believe this old church, also known as Little St Mary's, is 1000 years old!! It's well hidden but worth a look. It's known locally as Cold Christmas Church.

Strange old place - the ruins of a church, with graveyard - but set in a lovely location. Great place to include on a walk or cycle.
