St Peter's Church

Lovely C12 Norman church, with west tower and original chancel arch. Well lit by clerestory windows inserted during a C19 restoration. Headstone of John Small, a famous batsman of Hambledon Cricket Club, still standing in the graveyard.

Service of proclamation very impressive

Beautiful sat and listened to a band rehearsal and thought about my Beautiful mum who passed in 2019. Xxx

We popped in as we were in the area and glad we did. Nice interior and it was made clear that everyone was welcome.

People often sit in the churchyard of St Peter's Church to appreciate the view. There is a sign explaining that the churchyard has been a "place of peace for hundreds of years."

People are advised not to play ball games or ride bikes. This is so that "others can enjoy the peace as well as you." The sign also encourages people "to leave the churchyard as you would like to find it."

There was a lovely woman seated inside the Church who was able to answer questions. She was extremely kind and informative.

Got married here and having my daughter Christened here too. Very friendly & warm congregation.
