An unexpected murder-mystery scene (long time ago)! Inscription on a plaque inside the porch suggests the murderer was never found. An interesting building Norman and later, with lots of re-used Roman materials. The building is on a round, raised site, high on the hill, perhaps suggestive of earlier use of the site. Parking is available free nearby. Some thoughtful notices kindly placed in the church help to explain the history of features inside.

Pretty church.
I'm fascinated by the old tenor bell from 1420 sitting on the floor of the tower.

An early Norman church with an inexpressively vile 1928 brick built tower. This excrescence replaced a timber tower, which was a renovation of an 15th century original. The church interior is spartan, with the exception of a gaudy, cheap looking alter. I travelled here with a friend who came to visit the grave of his great grandfather.
