Beautiful church, with an interesting history; some parts date back to the 10th century. The wall paintings have had extensive work done (lottery grant) to preserve them. Whilst the paintings are quite faded, they have installed projected imaged to show you what the original looked like. I coincidentally visited on the opening Sunday, where volunteer guides welcomed us (there is also a video and booklet if you happen to visit another time).

We were also lucky to visit on a day where they had homemade cakes and tea on the lawn, organised by the friendly local parishioners. Unfortunately, the website does not list when the tea/cake afternoons are on, but I suppose you could call and find out.

Either way, do visit this little gem. p.s. Little Missenden is a charming village.

A beautiful 10th Century church with restored wall paintings dating from Anglo-Saxon times to the reign of Wiliam & Mary. Also. they do a lovely cream tea!
