A beautiful little church built 1867 in Childwickbury picture postcard village. A fine church organ sits in the wood panelled pulpit which is adorned with intricate wood carvings. The white marble font near the doorway is in memory of two young children. Outside, carefully trimmed hedges and neat grass and shrub areas lead to the entrance of Childwickbury Manor, once home of film director Stanley Kubrick.

This lovely church, in the hamlet of Childwick Green, was built in 1867 by Henry Toulmin, the then owner of the Childwickbury Estate. Henry had found that his tenants, many of them elderly, were unable to endure the long walk to the Parish Church of St Michael; hence he built the church and adjoining schoolroom, where he and his wife taught many to read and write. The Faith, Hope and Charity windows in the Chancel are in memory of Henry and his wife, Emily.

Childwickbury is a beautiful area for a country walk and this church provides a peaceful place to rest and reflect.
