So welcoming, the first real family I've had in years! I recommend everyone to come and give Kingsgate a try - there's so much on offer! Toddler groups, Mainly Music, Tuesdays at 10am, Little Treasures, Wednesday and Thursdays 10am, Kingsmums ladies Bible Study Fridays 10am, Healing Rooms first Saturday of every month 10am-12pm, Sunday services 10am with kids groups, 4pm in Ham and 6pm. Kingsgate is so much more than "just a church", we are a family :-) and we're always looking to extend our family by welcoming new members! God bless you and hope to see you soon! :-)

There is a great atmosphere of Gods presence in this Church. I just so happened to visit when the Senior Pastor was speaking about the Churches vision. They were about loving God, then loving each other then just taking that outside the four walls the building.

I have been here for 2 years coming this April 2018 and can say, indeed I have felt loved and made to be apart of this community of faith. If your wondering about the God of the bible or the Christian faith - I have found Kingsgate Church leaders to be knowledgeable, approachable and humble - demonstrating a genuine love for God and an authentic love for people.

Great warm and friendly church that is in the town centre of Kingston-upon-Thames, opposite the Rotunda Centre and above the Wetherspoon pub (The Kings Tun). Has a good mix of families, students and professionals attending and also a few homeless people. Mix of lively and reflective worship songs used. Does a lot of work with the local community in various ways, including hosting community events, a free community lunch, a one-stop shop for those in need, choirs etc. Has a disabled lift to access the two floors, the auditorium is at floor 2, where the services are held. Doesn't have its own parking lot, but there are various car parks close by within a 5 minute walk.

It's fantastic what they've done with renovating the building; certainly a massive accomplishment.

Coming to the church was an interesting psychilogical study. The minister (?) Starts talking, but before he's finished, the keyboardist starts playing to start the power of suggestion (as music can open us up in such a way). The song they chose went on for around 15 minutes (dragging on to be fair with very limited variety of melody and chords) building up then dying back down. Just as you thought they were finished, they go off again at a tangent (much like Beethovens 5th, but not so grandiose).

What I found interesting next was that they blatantly then ask people with issues to put their hands up, so someone can come round to speak to them, rather than suggest them coming to the front AFTER the session had ended. Rather than take the person away, the music continues to influence their thoughts and support the words that are spoken to each person 'privately'.

The sermon needed a little work. It was interesting to hear a quote from Revelations, however the supporting analysis was unrelated and not really an analysis of the passage at all. It was used to support the theme that would cover the remainder of the session. If honest, it felt a little shoehorned and didn't really support the message that was being given (although some will think differently given the 'yes' and 'mmmm' spoken by some of the audience). I did enjoy watching the speaker gesticulating and being quite animated. His speech patterns were somewhat peculiar, annunciating minor words and then using humour during parts where he seemed to lose the attention of his audience.

At the end, more music ensues where people are invited to come up to the front. This I noticed puts people into a trance like state where they would be more likely to go into a situation or agree to discuss matters that would otherwise normally be private.

Otherwise, I felt welcome and everyone was friendly, however I don't agree with this method of putting people on the spot or mild form of peer pressure. It would be much better to suggest people come up afterwards (if time allows) without any music playing and away from the audience staring towards them.

What a sense of community, family and acceptance! Felt right in when I wouldn't in any other place.
I always look forward to seeing everyone again, never feel alone, and feel like I am growing like never before.
The leaders are passionate, kind and respectful. The people are warm, welcoming and also human beings! XD

From the very first day we arrived, this felt like home and has the primary reason why we were able to settle so comfortably in the UK.

Since joining, I have found my faith challenged and grown, as well as my love of worship deepen. I find the people to be diverse, authentic and warm.

I would like to say a heartfelt and HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Kingsgate! I was privileged to attend your event on 7th December, which brought together the lovely children of your Church and many of our more senior citizens from local care homes. It was an absolute delight!! I attended with some of the residents of Galsworthy House and they thoroughly enjoyed it! I must say I had tears in my eyes for the majority of it, but they were tears of pure joy! What a wonderful thing to do! You have proved my point that in this world we live in there are still some amazing people! x
