Although heavily modified in the 18th century, St Mary's retains the carved wagon roof from the rebuild in 1486 by the Abbots of Glastonbury. The word "rebuild" indicates that there was a place of worship here much earlier. There is an impressive Giant Sequoia tree behind the church which stands a good 60ft taller than the tower.

Lovely tranquil spot. What an amazing tree in the grounds. I wonder how high it is, too big for my tape measure!!!
