What a lovely old church in Kersey. There's some really interesting historical features that date back centuries - well worth a look!

Open daily this church sits across a ford at the top of the hill overlooking the picture postcard village. Features a lovely 15th century roof. There is a fabulous Victorian restoration of a church porch here. Notice the rood screen panels against the wall in the north aisle.

The so-called 'Wool Church', a pompous building on a hill dominates the undersized city, consisting of tiny dung houses; a kind of one-street city. Until the 50x it did not have electricity, water-supply, the population used a well located at the other end of the street. It is curious that the river crosses the main road of the city, a shallow place for fording (hence OxFORD)

The town of Kersey is just a lovely town to visit. It’s supposedly one of the most beautiful towns of England and although I cannot compare I would agree it’s quite beautiful. It’s rather small so don’t expect many wandering streets.

The church on top of the hill is very old and and oozes history. I love these kind of churches it’s rather beautiful. We just walked around it and enjoyed the view. As we were leaving we got to talk to some of the local children and their teacher. They were very sweet. As it turns out the school, of just about 30 children or so, is situated next to the church.

One of my favourite suffolk churches situated in pretty unspoilt village which includes a ford on the main street.A peaceful church situated at the highest point in the village commanding a lovely view from the churchyard. When you go in the church, look up. ( in fact when you go in any church look up,) Suffolk has many angel roofs ,this one ,sadly has decapitated angels thanks to the reformation.Atmospheric feeling here, sit down and feel it wash over you.Cannot leave without mentioning the Bell Inn .After your church visit call in for a superb pub lunch.Been here at least 10 times and found it brilliant.Word of warning, have no breakfast if you have the homemade pies!,rather filling.

Such a quaint little village. We walked up to the church, good view from there. Nice looking pub although we didn't go in. Very picturesque place on a sunny day.

What an interesting church. Worth going into. Has older grave stones surrounded by unkept lawn to encourage wild life. View from top of hill was fantastic. Kersey was a lovely village.
