Risby Church, St Giles

I just loved walking thru the cemetery and soaking in all the surrounding history

Although the Church was locked, a phone call was made and within 3 minutes the Churchwarden arrived very friendly indeed and gave us some history about the church. She certainly made our visit very enjoyable indeed.

Beautiful ancient peaceful, a haven. Still only open for private prayer on Fridays just now, hopefully open for services again starting on St Giles Day at the start of September

A fantastic ancient (Norman) round tower church. There are faded 13th century wall paintings.

Nice small atmospheric church but the pews were very uncomfortable. Not very easy for people in wheelchair to navigate and attend a service
