St Johns Church

Saint John's Church was my spiritual home as a child in the late 1930's and 1940's under the priesthood of the Reverends ? Butler, Jack Gibson and Bernard Preston. The latter two were a great influence upon my spiritual future. I was baptised and confirmed in Saint John's, an altar server and member of the choir. I doubt if there are many of my generation still alive apart from Ernest ery early 1950'sBend with whom I am in constant communication. My family left Annesley Woodhouse in the very early 1950's to live in Mablethorpe. After demobilisation from the R.A.F. in 1952 I became deeply involved in the parish of Mablethorpe. I left to live in Ireland in 1956 where I later became a priest in the Church of Ireland, retiring in 2002. Canon Clifford (John) Challender
