Very well looked after church with the oldest portion built c1200. The tower and aisles c 1461 - 1483. Excellent medieval high church atmosphere with a superb live pipe organ organist and choir present at most communion services.

The present organ was installed in 1978 from the redundant church of St Edmund in Northampton. It was manufactured in 1886 by William Hill and Son of London.

The previous "Pomfret Organ" was given by the Earl of Pomfret in 1817, and was originally in William Beckford's Fonthill Abbey, was damaged by fire in 1976 and remains in the Victoria & Albert museum awaiting sufficient allocation of funds to permit its restoration.

Interesting positive sermons from Revd Ben Phillips and prayers and readings from the congregation make this a highly recommended Sunday service that takes place at 9.30am

Was walking through towcester when i came across this lovely church, now i am not religious but i was for some reason drawn to this building. to my shock and awe when i went inside it turned out that one of my ancestors was once the rector before he became pope. i did have to sit a while to take it all in as it came as a shock to me, just goes to show it really is a small world
