The Church of St Tysilio in Llandysilio has a very unusual bell tower, its a round tower which is out of character with most of the churches in Shropshire. There is plenty of parking available and the grounds are well maintained. Its easy to find simply drive along the A483.

The Church of St Tysilio in Llandysilio, near the Powys Shropshire border, is a Gothic revival church built in 1867. Its round tower is particularly unusual in this part of Britain.
The churchyard is circular, hinting at earlier origins. Legend has it that St Tysilio himself founded the church in the 7th century. Little is known about the church that the current structure replaced.
The current church was built by GE Street in 1867 utilising a blend of Early English and early Decorated Gothic architecture, similar to churches of the 13th century.
The rock-faced stonework is made of greenish, local stone from nearby Welshpool. The tracery of the windows, the drip course and other decorated elements are made of sandstone from Cefn Mawr in North Wales.
The interior is decorated to Streets designs, the ornamentation and furniture is coherent and consistent in styling.
The octagonal font and circular pulpit are Bath stone. The reredos are Caen stone with a central "Rouge Royal" marble slab from Belgium. The stained glass dates from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including works from Clayton and Bell as well as Curtis Ward-Hughes of London and Powell's of Blackfriars West.
