The 3 ancient Yew trees in the churchyard are superb. Also of interest are the slate graves. Being so close to the slate quarries it was readily available, and it resists weathering so well that the carved and engraved tombs are as clear and sharp as when they were made 150+ years ago.

This church was built in 1843 to replace an older church immediately to the North East. It has a distinct charm being hidden by trees from the road and these trees seem to be indeed hiding the church. A group of large tortured twisted yew trees in the vicinity are thought to be 2000 years old. The large graveyard is well maintained overall but some older areas were overgrown when I visited mid Winter. I did not see inside the Church but it is held up as being an example of unaltered Victorian build and finish and fittings. Minimal parking in front of church gates.
