Oh boy does this place need a complete restoration. In its prime it must have been quite something.
But those days are long gone.
Crumbling plaster throughout, peeling paintwork the norm.
But has an excellent dance floor.
Despite all the faults an good atmosphere can be generated.
Don't bother to use the downstairs toilets. No not water or the means to dry your hands. No soap either.

Great Historical building. It was built in 1879, though now it is mainly used for large functions or activities. It is good to visit there are a lot of charity driven events takes placed in here

A little rough around the edges, but a nice open venue once you get into the main hall. As you walk in, towards the stairs there are seemingly lots of little businesses dotted around, and it adds a nice atmosphere of "things going on" around you. Everything has a bit of a "rough" feel, but I think it's done on purpose to add a bit of character to the building, the staircase is interesting and leads to a fair few camera opportunities. When I went, it was for a dancing event and had live music, which was all done very nicely, it was a suitable venue. The bar was rather terrible though, only one beer, and it was a becks! Why not something from a local brewery? Or at least something non-mainstream...

A great surprise in Limehouse. I attended a Lindy Hop event at the venue. The building is historic and very ornate.
If you pass it, see if you can go inside for a look. Maybe even a donation wouldn't go astray.

Great old building, used to be Limehouse Town Hall as the name suggests. Not very wheelchair friendly it would seem because of the stairs (even to get into the entrance). Cool hall upstairs with balcony and a door that can be opened for ventilation. Not many ladies toilets.

Lovely old building used for community and arts projects and groups. The decor is clearly aged and yes the downstairs loos have seen better days but a wonderful space 10 minutes from Limehouse DLR station. It so important to keep these spaces open and support by donations of any amount.

So happy that rough and ready and arty and free thinking places like this still live and thrive inside an increasingly sanitised city. With a sweet sound system to boot. Keep up the great work!
