From a small girl, I have always loved the high street. As a child I would love sitting with my mum as she would be in a boutique going through the rails finding the most unique and special item for her to wear. As an adult, I have gone out of my way to support our beautiful high street, I still do. Sass & Edge, I came across just a year or two ago. I live in Bournemouth but was previously in London where the world was my oyster in terms of shops. However, I would buy from high street brands like Topshop but mix it up with boutique brands. in other words, you don't need to dress head to toe in designer. if anything, it can look cheap. Best to mix it up and not look so 'done'. In London I would drive to villages like Amersham and source independents and come back with the most precious treasures. Not often that expensive, just unique and independent. I would shop in my local Ealing boutique Stuff and would support them over and above all the other shops. When I came across Sass & Edge two years ago I could not believe my luck. Probably the best boutique I have ever been (and trust me, I've been in a few in my time including having lived in Los Angeles for a number of years). Suddenly, it was like a lightbulb moment, a shop that caters for proper women. Women with style, who know what they like and despite, possibly, their middle years, still want to dress with sass and style (figure permitting) and a bit sexy too! Why not? 50 is the new 30! I have always had a brilliant experience in this shop and during this horrid time I have continued to support them. I just had delivered today the most exquisite skirt I have ever been. It reminds me of an almost spiritual skirt with vibrant colours and a touch of mermaid (but stylish and classy). I am beyond delighted. So, why this lengthy post? Maybe I'm feeling more passionate than usual.

Women of Britain, we have a job to do. When this virus is over we need to get back shopping. We need to support our high street and our independents; we need to spend our money. Unless, of course, you'd like to look like everyone else? I know I don't. I don't have oodles of money but I love to dress well, I cannot wait to hotfoot it to Winchester to have a really good shop and see what goodies they have. I encourage you to do the same.
