Matalan

Clothes are fine but they need to train their staff and managers with serious customer service skills. Some are extremely rude, they make mistakes at the till and blame the customers for their own lack of knowledge and incompetence and when they make a mistake instead of apologising they continue to be rude. I was there earlier today and the behaviour of one of the so called supervisors was disgraceful. Absolutely rude and incompetent woman unable to use the till with no customer service skills - retraining is seriously needed here.

There's one employee here who has an outstanding personality. She's very bubbly and kind, would recommend this store just because of her really.

However, the quality of products here may seem high at first - until you look a bit closer or have already bought the items.

I've paid for a wide array of items from this store, and so far, most of them have ended up in the bin because of deterioration at an alarming rate.

I've had expensive (£15+) fountain pens leak everywhere because they don't quite fit the cartridges, despite them stating outright that they do.

I've had electronics blow fuses because they've got faulty wiring that causes a power surge.

I even purchases a set of sharpies twice - both times they were damaged in the packaging.

I'm pretty sure that they buy damaged or unwanted items for resale, since the amount of money wasted here is excruciatingly high.

I'll probably end up back here because of convenience to my location, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has an alternative.

I haven't shopped in matalan for years. I popped in to look at childrens clothes. They had a good selection of clothing but not always in correct sizes. Lovely items in the home section. Bright and clean store, friendly staff.

They have closed the fitting rooms due to employing less staff so you cannot try items on properly before deciding to buy. They also mostly only have self service tills so trying to find the 1 member of staff who is running the place can be difficult.

Great value for price, but the staff seems to not care too much about the customers

I can see this store closing soon through lack of customers.
While they do have some good products and some bargains, I was appalled that on a Saturday afternoon they had no cashiers! 3x self-service tills and one miserable attendant.
Not recommended.

Not so hot for clothes now.

My every visit is a happy one. Always there is something that I can't resist to buy. All good quality products with great value for money price. Occasional sales makes me WOW. Tgey got fashionable and perfect seasonal items as well. Always had a nice experience with stuffs as well. Nice neat and clean.
