Went here for an early Sunday lunch. It's been done out so well. Chloe our waitress was great, friendly and polite. You want to know about the food right, well, stunning. 3 of us Inc a veggie all had completely different food and we all loved it. My one mate stated it was the best Sunday dinner he's had in years, and he's had quite a few haha. The starters were a piece of art, and all portion sizes were really good. The drinks menu is decent too with the drinks tasting good n fresh. Highly recommend. Only one comment is the veggie option could be cheaper or have more veggie options

Room was basic, shower ok,bed ok bathroom floor dirty! Bar had very few drinks available. Breakfast was poorly organised and had to be the worst I've ever seen, bread for toasting was from a communal bread bag straight from Tesco, overcooked everything except bacon which was undercooked, nothing was coordinated, simple stuff was wrong that makes you remember how bad your stay was. Certainly won't recommend it.

We stayed 1 night. Was absolutely stunning. Room very clean , and tidy.
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was more than enough, as it was help yourself. Well presented and will be back when we in the area again.

Very basic room. Bathroom floor was dirty, no toilet rolls, soap dispensers were empty and there was mould around the shower. Breakfast was very poor. Bread from a bag that everyone reached into, burned sausages, not very nice at all.

Booked this hotel as its the perfect location for the town centre if you want shops/cafes in the daytime or restaurants /bars in the evening. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming and that made me feel instantly at home. The lobby area has been decorated so beautifully so it's lovely to sit and have a drink at the bar, meals are also available from their restaurant menu. The hotel is still undergoing some work so just expect this with decoration etc when walking through to your rooms. Rooms/bathroom is comfortable, and have everything you need, complimentary water provided which many hotels don't offer. Tea / coffee etc provided too.
Entertainment was on the evening I was there (Friday) this is an option if you aren't heading out. Lovely hotel, great location, great staff would definitely recommend.

There was no sign warning of a few downward steps just around a bend in the corridor to the rooms.
My room was cramped, the entry to the shower was very narrow and the light switch for the main light was at the opposite end of the bedroom to the entrance and unseen behind the wardrobe.
I did not bother with dinner as the items looked showy and overpriced.
It was a maze to get from my room to reception.
On Saturday I went down early for breakfast to know where everything was. I reached a door with a keypad as the chef did. At the other side there was another keypad.
While waiting downstairs I looked around the place only to find that the floor to the only toilet downstairs was covered in spilled water. I even saw a sweeper with its cable spread out in a circle close to the base of a flight of stairs.
While downstairs two people came through the front door. They were guests who must have reached the keypad then made their way out of the sidedoor.
I ordered my breakfast with toast underneath the breakfast but was told that I had to make the toast for myself. HOW? No bread had been put out. Later two loaves were brought out but still in their unopened plastic bags.
Breakfast was brought out but there was no cutlery in sight.
Before travelling there, and after reading reviews of the place, I rang the hotel and was told that a show would be hosted on the evening of 30th April (my second and final evening there). On the morning of travel to the hotel I checked and discovered that the show would start at 22.00 on the Saturday and run till 03.30 on the Sunday. I immediately booked a train ticket so that I could check out on the Saturday rather than the Sunday. I reached my home town station BEFORE that show was due to start.
On check-out a new member of staff helped me get my suitcase to the sidedoor and I had to show HIM the way.
The first photo shows my suitcase between the desk and the wardrobe (the only space large enough).
The second photo shows the spilled water on the only toilet on the ground floor.

Central convenient location for town centre and a 2 minute walk from the railway station. No car park BUT within about 50metres of 24hr NCP.
Undergoing a big programme of refurbishment, this grand and imposing hotel is in need of the tlc the current owners are applying to it.
I'm not going into to picky detail about the bedrooms but for me, adequate and reflected in the rate. The bed was comfortable and ensuite pristine. ( A mirror over the sink an obvious omission)
Food - The chef takes great care in his preparation and presentation.... delicious choice to suit most. Typical breakfast.
Served our business stay purposes.
The staff are more than helpful.

No hot water in the morning which is fine it happens... The issue is the way it was dealt with. Rude staff member saying that I'll just have to wait with no Eta for a plumber... Again absolutely fine, but then I say can I get a refund and go to another hotel as I am only here for a short time and have prepaid plans that I need to shower and be ready for so can't wait about as its a holiday and don't want to wait indefinitely for a plumber... He said yes absolutely just let us know through the booking app... I did and and then they said sorry you left too early you should've given the hotel more time to sort the water out and if everyone complained about the service then we wouldn't make any money so we're going to have to keep your money... We also saw your review and that's why we're not going to entertain this conversation...... Imagine that, because they've not provided the full service they're now saying because I left as a result of that even after they promised to refund that they won't refund... Filthy customer service surprised this is even allowed to happen but I've been told by then to go through booking. Com instead and was rudly hung up on and no one is taking my calls anymore so I'll make sure booking. Com know this and we'll see how much business they get through them moving forward
