The Imperial Bar

Horrendous customer service from the girl working Saturday 11th January. We went in for a cocktail, plus a 'baileys with ice' , a cognac and a diet Coke. We ended up with an extra cocktail (one with Baileys), the rest of the order was correct. We kindly pointed out the error, and the attitude started. Slamming things around, the dirty looks and disgruntled body language. The diet Coke didn't have any syrup in it, so I asked her to check. She didn't, just took a drink out of a glass s,aid it was fine. I asked for a bottle we 'don't do that' . She didn't know what I wanted as it couldn't be changed , so it was ' take it or leave it'. I asked for a refund and a tap water. I heard coins hitting the bar and when I looked there was 70p next to my arm. One of the girls I was with asked why the girl serving had thrown money at me. I didn't know what it was for, because I'm pretty certain, a drink is worth more than that and I certainly didn't warrant having money lobbed at me. When I asked what it was - the girl with issues said it was my change, then argued I'd obviously stolen some of the money and put less back on the bar!! Seriously!!! I asked her to check the CCTV, she refused and wouldn't check the till either. When I asked for the head office number she refused to give it to me. Such an unpleasant attitude, I think this young lady needs a lesson in customer service, respect and manners. She told me she held the title of manager. What were the owners thinking of??

Visited with my boyfriend after dinner on my 30th Birthday last month.
The bar was advertised as being open until 11 p.m. but when we arrived at just after 10 p.m. we were told by the barman that he would be closing down soon.
The bartender looked very young, he serving alone and there were a group of 5 or so boys (who were clearly his friends) at the bar also but no other guests. They were very young, between the ages of 12-17 I would guess.

We had planned to have a couple of drinks but the venue was absolutely freezing and obviously empty for a reason.
We were served our drinks (which were possibly the worst cocktails I have ever tasted), and were promptly told that if we wanted anymore we had to order straight away despite the closing time advertised not due for almost an hour.
After 10 minutes of sipping disgusting drinks in a cold bar surrounded by teenagers being loud and obnoxious with the bartender, we decided to leave.

The hall for hire upstairs is more like a landing area. We hired it for a birthday party and kept getting told to stop dancing as the ceiling was shaking in the bar downstairs. We even had the very very young bar manager come upstairs with the security guard to announce on the microphone that it was our final warning and if we did'nt stop dancing we would all be told to leave!!!! Really?? quick enough to take our money to hire the ??? hall in the first place though. Would'nt use it again

Nice bar average cocktails. Ruined by security guard smoking at the door. Then rolling up cigarettes with other people . Sitting outside getting wafted with smoke by staff is inappropriate

Amazing Barman who knew his cocktails (he was a 5*!) but a lot of the cocktails were very sweet!

Was an issue for about an hour of the night where staff seemed to be struggling. So led to delay in ordering and receiving drinks. But staff very polite and good atmosphere.

We waited an hour for our drinks.
One star is for the drinks that were good
