The Pod

I came to the pod on a Saturday night for a few drinks but was disappointed with the choice of drinks. My fiancé wanted a glass of rose wine and there was only one sweet rose wine which she doesn’t like, the only other choice was a white Pinot by the glass or Sauvignon blanc by the bottle which was no good, so she couldn’t have what she wanted and settled for a glass of merlot. Then to make things worse they then poured the wine into a short plastic cup instead of a wine glass! I know things have changed because of COVID but we’ve been out in Newport and Cardiff and all the other places we went had normal glasses so very disappointed with a plastic glass.

On a positive there are more tables now which is good and this is still my favourite place in Newport to go, just a shame about the wine choice and plastic glasses.

Great lockdown treat from a place that until a couple of days ago, I had no idea existed. When we ordered, we expected it to be busy as some if the items had already been removed from the site. We did get an hour delay on our order, however it was more than made up for by a call from the restaurant explaining why plus a free bottle of wine to say sorry! The food was excellent and the portions were great. When the country opens up again, I’m going to visit this place for another amazing experience

Went with my partner for a Sunday roast at The Pod and the food was lovely. The food came out within minutes of ordering and was piping hot. My only criticism is the plate to transfer the food onto could be a bit bigger, but 100% would go back and recommend to my friends, family and everyone! Can’t wait to go back another day and order something from the normal menu!

Great customer service via email and face to face. The pod was welcoming and friendly. The outside pod was lovely and warm with the heater and blankets were provided. Music speaker to connect your own music. The street food was amazing and filling. We had a great time and will definitely be back, thank you so much 😊

Great night good atmosphere, only had a 2 and half hour slot which was a shame as could have stayed longer.
Inside and outside seating so plenty of room,think they have music occasionally on Saturday nights.
Will definitely go again.

We went for a work Christmas party, the food was lovely (and lots of it!) and the staff were amazing!
