We had the afternoon tea. Good value for what you get, and the cake and scone were lovely. The service was quick, and there is an outside area that would be nice in the summer. The sandwiches were nice, but the bread wasn't very fresh (but it was a Sunday)

What a wonderful warm welcome from 2 super hostesses on this wet and wintry lunchtime. I loved my table outside for this stunning view. Fabulous coffee followed by the most exquisite Welsh rarebit I have eaten, soft melting texture with tons of flavour. Came with top quality bacon too. My last meal out before tier 4 and what a treat.

Lovely outdoor patio overlooking a quiet green space and the cathedral. In the afternoon the tables are in the sun which is perfect for an afternoon coffee or hot choc or even a cheeky glass of wine.

Sat outside in a lovely spot at the end of a gorgeous arcade & very near the Abbey. Enjoyed a delicious home made stilton, leek & mushroom pie with a soft topping. Tap water was available. My first choice item on the menu was not available on that day. The waitress was brilliant. She was very cheerful & obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend & I hope to visit again some time. I did not check if there were toilets as I was visiting the Abbey & knew they had nice washrooms l.

A hidden gem in St Albans.
I was in St Albans with my daughter back in August on a lovely sunny day, we discovered Abigails purely by chance, we wandered down a beautiful little arcade just window shopping as they were all closed, but at the end it opened up into a gorgeous garden area with Abigails tea room right at the edge of it, we decided to stop for something to eat and drink, the service was excellent as we're the sandwiches and selection of cakes, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again.
My daughter loved it there so much that she would like her next birthday party to be there..

Hidden treasure. Lovely relaxed homely cosy tea room with good value tasty dishes from sandwiches & snacks to main meals, puds & cakes. Clean plates all round & good cappuccino/latte good find down colourful little alleyway. No very nearby parking unless have disabled badge 1 alleyway (see pic) is more accessible than the other if you have difficulty walking. We'll be back for afternoon tea next time 😊👍
