Was attempting to enter Cafe Nero today around 13:30 in Nottinghill Gate London but the gentleman working of the same ethnicity as me ( I am so called black ) decided he can’t allow me to enter. That’s fine as I can take no for an answer but the way he said it completely surprised me. I was shocked. First I thought it was the end of my phone conversation where I said “Viva Ukraine” but then I though no he possibly couldn’t hear that and then I thought maybe he is just having a bad day. I went back there to “reconcile” and have a good day as I felt horrible and he was completely demeaning and patronising. I left feeling I want to cry and just confused. I have been drinking chocolate Milano for many years and never ever experienced any indifference or rudeness from any people working at any coffeeshop or other places before. Cafe Nero as a whole are one of my favourite places to visit so it’s not the cafe it’s the specific gentleman. For that reason it’s gonna be psychologically difficult to pass a Cafe Nero or walk in and buy my chocolate Milano, it’s sad as for many years it’s my one thing giving me a happy boost. I am alone in this world no family, Cafe Nero was my family hang out place, shame on this individual. Shame on this gentleman grrrrrrr !!!

I’ve been coming to this Cafe Nero for a few years now as I work around the corner. In the last month or so they’ve hired new staff. One in particular man is so lovely to everyone, it’s a straight good morning and goodbye. It honestly makes my day! He’s so sweet to every customer, super quick and ready for any complications! As a whole, the coffee is great and the customer service tops it off! Absolute gems working there at the moment!

Very nice members of staff, but the place could be better taken care of and more presentable.

I came in today just now to grab a coffee and I was told that I could not be served as the staff member was working since 3am alone. He was on his break and could not serve anybody. Surely this a breach of Health and Safety policies as all lone workers should have break cover and one first aid qualified person in the building.

Cafe Nero you need to up your game and treat your staff correctly. Poor gentleman looked exhausted and Notting Hill is hardly a quiet area.

I’m also fuming because I could not get my coffee. I think im going to take a longer commute as Gail’s is reliable.

Cafe supposed to close at 8pm but closing most of the seating area (upstairs) at 5:30pm… what’s the point??

I have been a Caffe Nero customer for years and years, my usually store is Notting Hill, before this covid situation every time I went to get my coffee I was greeted with a big smile and immediately felt at home. For a few months I have understood that the old team is no longer there and is badly managed, the store is very dirty, the products are always dry every time I buy a product I am never satisfied and I am forced to throw it away, I am a great coffee connoisseur and I know when a coffee is burnt or not extracted in the right way and every time I go there it is always a disappointment. When I try to order online, the order is almost always refused, and I don't understand why, are online orders less important than in-store orders? Or don't they feel like working? In particular, there is a short girl who punctually every time I go for a coffee the quality is very bad and she is very rude. Unfortunately for her I understand and speak a little Italian and that time when she was annoyed because I went to have a coffee interrupting her while she was on her cell phone, she just gave me coffee with a bad custumer service without even saying hello and looking me in the face, turning her back to me. all the time, she told the person on the phone that she had to get rid of the client and that she being the manager could do whatever she wanted with offensive words towards me. I believe that in this period where people have no work and would like one to have people like this it is not a great pride for the company, for a week apart I have stopped attending this store and the company because if I have to pay for this I am not there.
I hope the Company take action and that person leave her position to people who really want to work, I expected a better selection from the company because this manager unfortunately has no reason to be there for me.

Always great coffee and workspace upstairs to work. It’s much quieter than most of the cafes in the street and there were working charging points too, if you sit close to the left wall upstairs.
