Situated, just off the M27 at Portsmouth , not far from Cosham Train Station and close to some good local amenities . Highbury Collage is an easy and good place to study, work or just pass by.
Classes seemed friendly and open. Assistance with both personal and professional issues were offered or/and available.
Highbury Collage has a decent food court available as well as sports centre and nursery.
Highbury Collage is a good place, that could be so much gooder.

I’ve been at Highbury for 2 years doing my level 1 and 2 hairdressing .… I finished my level 1 and 2 all good.
On the 2nd of September I asked my teacher if I will have to pay for my 3rd level … she replied: Alexia can you come in college ?
When I arrived there she was telling me that I cannot continue with my level 3 because English is my second language blah blah blah . In 2 years you didn’t think english is my second language??? And that I’m not speaking enough??? You didn’t had any problem with that ? Now when it was my last year and last year of free education you thought to tell me in September that I’m not able to do my level 3 ? Seriously? I didn’t complaint anything about how you were teaching us! And about how you were talking with me yeah?
Another lady from the salon had a problem with me all the time . Staring at me for no reason !

Disgusting vibes ! Because what ? I’m Romanian and I’m very very very proud of this !!! After this experience I made a complaint ( in September) I had no answer ! Literally no answer from my complaint ! This in not a college ! This is a joke and waste of time !

As a a graduate evening adult learner on a community course its a great place. Convenient location, free parking on site, someone to greet you at the entrance when you arrive and seating while you wait for the tutor to lead you to the classroom.
The building is very modern and has some great tech including mac suites, studios ect.
The course I'm doing is incredible and I'd definitely recommend enquiring abou the adult learning courses.
Only minor negative is that the cafe/canteen is closed in the evenings, not ideal for adults coming from work straight to college.

Only give one star as can’t give none !!
Absolutely awful place shocking security.
They don’t communicate with each other and try to cover up
They don’t lock the bike sheds like stated on the gate between 9:30 and 3 pm
Then shift blame when students bikes /scooters locks are angle grinded by thieves in balaclavas!!
Twice in few days my daughters scooter was thieved gate left unlocked
Took me to drive there as ignored on phone and the head security didn’t no anything about the first theft when it was reported and statements were written !
Just stand shrugging shoulders
It’s awful security my daughter does not feel safe at this college and will no longer attend !

The fact that Highbury describes itself as 'excellent' is incorrect - at its latest Ofsted it was rated as 'requires improvement'. It has now merged with City of Portsmouth College, which holds the same rating. This was largely my experience with Highbury - high staff turnover, being belittled by staff and left struggling to complete the course. Complaints are also brushed aside. As an older student, who had completed a degree and was also in full time employment at the time of the course, I was treated like a child. I would not recommend Highbury.

Student safety is clearly paramount where COVID 19 is concerned. The college has an established and well practiced means of conducting lateral tests on site. The staff i met were friendly and professional.

Started an Access to HE Nursing course via distance learning in March. I did a couple of units and all of a sudden couldn’t log in, it said my username and password were incorrect when they hadn’t been changed. I got a letter through the post to say my advanced learner loan had been cancelled also, this was for NO APPARENT REASON!! I contacted the college and no one was sure what was happening or why it was doing this, I then reapplied, got a new loan and a new username, and again I CAN’T LOG IN. Just be wary of this, I can’t now trust this platform the college uses to store my work, what am I supposed to do if I had done 20 out of the 21 units and then it deleted my account? Too risky when it could put University on hold, be wary.
